Add a YouTube video in your emails within Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement

A sports retail company would like to send its subscribers a newsletter that includes their latest podcast about sports activities.

The podcast video has been downloaded on YouTube to reach a large audience.

Also, they need to share this video through the next newsletter; that way, their subscribers will have access to the podcast directly through their inbox.

In this article we will walk through how to include a video into an email.

Design your video cover

In order to notify subscribers that there is a video in the newsletter, the cover should have an icon which represent a video play button.

They can watch the video and find out more about the podcast by clicking on this button.

The video cover should looks like the image below:

Set up the email content within Content Builder.

Download the image of the video cover

Create a brand new newsletter email template.

Drag and drop the image of the video cover.

Click on it then click on add link, from there add the URL of your podcast video which you have to copy via YouTube.

Select “secure website”

Then click on done edit then save.

Preview and test your email.

Follow the steps via content builder then click on the YouTube button. If all has been set up properly you should see the video playing from the inbox to your YouTube channel.
